SAINT-TROPEZ

Saint-Tropez is a coastal city in the south-east of France in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. A modest fishing village, chosen by the French bohemian, in the 60s of the last century turned into a fashionable resort, which still attracts tourists with its beaches and rich nightlife. The cobbled streets of the Fishing Quarter are reminiscent of the past, although now in the Old Port it is difficult to find a fishing boat among luxury yachts.

EGLISE DE ST-TROPEZ

The magnificent church in the style of Italian Baroque was built at the beginning of the 19th century and contains a gilded bust of the patron saint of the city, the apostle Trofim. Roman legionary adopted Christianity, for which he was killed by Emperor Nero. His body was thrown into the sea, and it was cast ashore at the place where the city of Saint-Tropez now stands.

PLAGES PAMPELONNE

The famous beaches of SaintTropez begin 4 km south-east of the city, along the long bay of Anse de Pampelonne. This 9- kilometer-long white sand bar is divided into small beaches, each of which has it’s name. There are quite a few free beaches, but you can only get here by car, and parking costs 6 €.

MUSÉE DE L’ANNONCIADE

Located next to the port, this wonderful 16th-century chapel was turned into a museum with a first-class collection of works by artists associated with SaintTropez, including celebrities such as Bonnard, Derren, Dufy, Matisse and Signac.

LA CITADELLE

Fortifications of the 17th century surround a fort built in SaintTropez to repel the attacks of the Berber pirates. From the walls of the citadel there are beautiful views of the city. The most significant element of the defense system from Antibes to Toulon, is the only monument of its kind in the department of Var. From the cannons, citadels fired at ships at sea, which were too close to the walls of the city. Since 1958, the Museum of the History of Navigation has been located in the citadel - Musée d’histoire maritime.

PLACE DES LICES

This market square was captured in the paintings of many artists, including Paul Signac. The square still has some of that atmosphere. With its restaurant terraces in the shade of plane trees, Place des Lices is the perfect place to see how the locals play traditional Provence the game is pétanque. On Tuesdays, before lunch, the traditional Provençal market is held on the square. They sell local fruits / vegetables, bread, tapenades, as well as clothes, shoes and all sorts of accessories - bags, jewelry, etc.

AZUR PARK

Park with more than 35 attractions, Tropical Golf Golf Club with 18 holes and decorations of prehistoric animals. Also on the territory there is a restaurant "AzurPark" with a friendly and cheerful atmosphere.
